About Us

This popular South Shropshire pub is Grade 2 listed and located in the centre of the delightful town of Bishop’s Castle, a small market town.

The town is a thriving market town that has a strong agricultural community as well as becoming known for its alternative community including artists, musicians, writers and craftspeople.

The Pub features two bars, the locals bar and the saloon bar, that are full of character and a secluded suntrap of a courtyard to the rear.

If you are coming in for a drink, you will find a proper pub serving a great selection of local ales and the atmosphere of a popular pub that we all love.

If you are looking for something to eat you will not be disappointed. With a strong food offer here you will find food that is familiar, with prices that will please and an attention to detail and flavour that is not often found when serving real pub food.

What our customers say:

“Good value for money, friendly staff but there is room for improvement – can’t quite put my finger on it but something isn’t there that should be there. Having said that, I might well go back when in the area.”

“There is a varied menu all of which seemed pretty good value for money.
There were eight in our group and everyone enjoyed everything they ate, especially the chips which were delicious. We would definitely eat there again and there was a good selection of drinks available including proper beer. Again, prices were pretty reasonable.”
